I’ve noticed this before – the seemingly complete opposition of these two statements to one another. But I was recently struck by it again during a conversation with Ordinary Spouse. Consider for yourself…

Treason against the United States, shall consist… in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

– United States Constitution, Article III, Section 3

I say to you that listen, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”

– Jesus (Luke 6. 27, 28)

And shortly thereafter, I read this NY Times article: Bishops Criticize Tough Alabama Immigration Law.
