Here’s a thought, pulled from the corner of my mind. Just something to think about…
In Acts 6, the early Church was going through some growing pains:
Now during those days, when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution of food. (NRSV)
Now the apostles were getting really busy, so they got together with everyone and selected some helpers to make sure that no one was overlooked. And so the people picked out:
Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, together with Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch.
Did you ever notice… They’re all Greek?!
What if, whenever we had conflict in the Church these days, we trusted the oppressed minority enough to put the means to a solution in their hands?
Just wondering. That’s all.
